4/30/2023 0 Comments Panda showHe’s able to take monthly trips with his girlfriend. From redditor u/ThrowAwayUncle44’s posts, it appears that he’s doing pretty well, financially. The second issue at play here is a bit more subtle. Image credits: ollinka (not the actual photo) Some families see each relative’s time and money as shared resources Being a family member doesn’t mean giving up your entire identity. It’s fine to make your boundaries more flexible the closer you are to someone else as you look for compromises (you care about these people, after all), but it would be a mistake to do whatever someone else tells you to, whenever they tell you to, just because you’re related to them. If you don’t communicate and enforce them, then you’ll start resenting those who cross them. They’re essential for healthy and thriving relationships, whether they’re familial or romantic. Living without any boundaries means living at your expense. But turning babysitting into an annoying and challenging part-time job is probably not the best way to get on someone’s good side. Asking for a spot of help from time to time is fine. It’s essential that you don’t take a relative’s willingness to help for granted. Everyone needs to set expectations and be on the same page. When it comes to setting boundaries, there’s no alternative to good communication. The second appears to be linked to something that can cause arguments in any family-money. The first has to do with setting boundaries with family members and how they’re struggling to accept this new reality. There seem to be two main issues at work here. Image credits: gpointstudio (not the actual photo) There were some suggestions thrown about that he should be sacrificing everything for his family. And the OP’s family accused him of not pulling his own weight. Everyone said a lot of mean things they probably regretted. The argument that followed the redditor’s proclamation that he’d like to go on a trip with his girlfriend instead of taking care of his nephew was of epic proportions. The longer you keep giving in, the more they will make you believe that doing favors for them is an obligation and you’ll hesitate setting boundaries because of guilt.” Meanwhile, here’s his advice for someone who might be in his shoes: “I can say without a doubt is try to recognize that you are being manipulated and put your foot down as soon as possible. My best guess is that they resent me for getting out of their control,” the OP said. They refused to pay for my education and I pretty much had to finance everything myself via working and scholarships. “I wanted to go to school in the US which my parents disapproved of while my brother did all his education in our home country. My older brother was my parent’s favorite no doubt about that and he was pretty much always prioritized over me,” he explained. “I think it just comes down to favoritism. Meanwhile, we were curious as to why the redditor’s family had such a hard time accepting the boundaries that he tried to establish.

4/30/2023 0 Comments Bunion xrayThis way the dataset of 38 pairs of WB and NWB x-rays was collected. Each foot was imaged separately with beam aimed at the second metatarsocuneiform joint. All patients had weightbearing (WB) x-ray of the foot which was performed with the film placed in a horizontal position and patient standing with weight distributed between both feet. The exclusion criteria covered the following: previous surgery or signs of bony trauma at the foot, inadequate quality of non-weightbearing imaging. As the NWB x-rays were brought from outside locations, their positioning was unstandardized. The patients were included if they presented with symptomatic hallux valgus (diagnosis M20.1) and had non-weightbearing (NWB) x-rays performed no longer than 6 months prior to presentation of symptomatic foot available. This is non-interventional study and formal consent was not required.Ī set of 25 consecutive patients (38 feet) presenting between 20 were prospectively included in the study (demographic data in Table 1). The study was performed as a single-center retrospective case-control analysis of x-ray dataset. The working hypothesis was that although the measured parameters would differ, the clinical decisions would remain unchanged. In this study, we aimed to investigate (first) the influence of weightbearing status on radiological hallux valgus parameters and (second) on clinical decisions based on these radiographs. The results of available literature on significance of weightbearing imaging for clinical decision making are, however, contradictory, with some researchers reporting important influence and others no influence of weightbearing on final surgical decisions. Majority of studies agree that radiological parameters of hallux valgus differ if measured in weightbearing and non-weightbearing imaging. The repeated imaging, causing repeated radiation, is justified only if it is expected to benefit the patient’s treatment. Basing decision on non-weightbearing imaging may negatively influence the outcome, but repeating the imaging requires additional radiation. In the case of the patient presenting with non-weightbearing x-rays, the surgeon is presented with a dilemma. While the standard imaging is well established, it is sometimes not followed in clinical practice, where primary imaging is ordered in community clinics. The standard imaging for a patient presenting with a symptomatic hallux valgus is weightbearing foot x-ray. Repeating radiographs is justified in patients presenting with NWB radiographs of symptomatic HV. NWB films overestimate early and underestimate advanced HV deformity. ConclusionsĬlinical decisions based on WB and NWB radiographs vary significantly. In only 45% of cases, the decisions based on NWB and WB imaging were consistent (kappa (95% CI) = 30.0 (23.7–36.3)). Clinical decisions for 10 x-ray pairs were studied among 40 respondents. In the dataset of WB and NWB x-rays, the hallux valgus (HVA) and intermetatarsal angle (IMA) were measured and differences analyzed. In this study, the influence of WB status on radiological HV parameters and on clinical decisions was analyzed. Repeated imaging requires additional radiation, justified only if expected to benefit patient’s treatment. In our clinical practice, often patients are presenting with non-weightbearing (NWB) x-rays. Weightbearing (WB) x-ray is standard imaging for symptomatic hallux valgus (HV). To report the effect of weightbearing x-ray imaging on clinical decisions in hallux valgus. 4/30/2023 0 Comments Hazelnut bastille demo downloadThis cookie is set by Google and stored under the name. Method Two: Create a Flowchart in Word With SmartArtĪnother way to create flowcharts in MS Word is by using SmartArt. Use the formatting options on the ribbon to format the text. With the text box selected, click on the Home tab. Click and drag the cursor where you wish to place the text box. You may find that you need text outside of the shapes in your flowchart. Repeat until you’ve inserted, formatted, and arranged all the connectors you need. To set a line as the default line, right-click on it, then select Set as Default Line. That way Word will use the same formatting settings for the next lines you create, and you won't have to keep formatting each one. When the line is formatted as you like, set it as a default line. Under the Shape Format tab, use the options to format the connector. The lines menu opens. Click on the line you wish to use. To insert an arrow, go to Insert > Lines. Next, you’re going to want to connect the shapes with lines or arrows. Use the gridlines to arrange them on your document. Repeat the previous steps to create all the shapes you need for your flowchart. Under the Home tab, use the formatting options to select the font, font size, and other attributes. If you wish to format the text inside a shape, select the shape. The text will appear inside the selected shape. To add text inside a flowchart shape, first select the shape. Use the options on the Shape Format ribbon to format the shape’s fill color, border, and other attributes. Click and drag the crosshair to create the shape to the size you want. If you hover over any shape, a tip-tool appears, letting you know what the shape means. Now you’re ready to start inserting shapes. To switch on the gridlines, go to View > Gridlines. Aside from showing you guide lines, when gridlines are on, shapes and lines snap to regular spaces, making it easy to align elements. This will make it much easier for you to create a nice-looking flowchart. Display Gridlinesīefore getting started, make sure to switch on gridlines. The first way to create a flowchart in Word is by inserting shapes in your document. Method One: Create a Flowchart in Word With Shapes If you’re using a different version of the application, the interface and steps may be different. Note: For this tutorial, I used Microsoft Word for Mac version 16. Use the method that lets you make the flowchart you envision. Word offers two ways to create a flowchart. In this tutorial, I walk you step-by-step through how to make a flowchart in Microsoft Word using basic shapes. Whether you need just the basics or specialized shapes, you can find them in Word. But the above basic flowchart symbols should be enough for the most common charts. Other shapes are used in flowcharts for very specific applications like data flow diagrams. Either an input needed for the process, or an output that goes into the next step. In a flowchart, each shape holds a meaning. It’s most effective for depicting a process, data flow, workflow, or decision steps. You can make your own flowchart in MS Word, or you can use a Word template with a flowchart built in to save time.Ī flowchart is a graphical representation of a series of steps or actions. You can make the flowchart right inside Microsoft Word, no programming or design skills required. And if you know how to make a flowchart in Word, you don’t need a different diagram-creation tool. A diagram is worth a thousand words, especially if you’re trying to explain a process. 4/30/2023 0 Comments Robotic window cleaner“Advancements that made such a daunting task possible include on-the-fly control of the KUKA robots in terms of pressure applied during the cleaning process as well as the ability to compensate for a moving scaffolding due to weather and changing architectural building features.” “The application puts several of the latest advancements in robotics to work in a new and exciting business sector and brings efficiency and safety to building maintenance,” said John Bubnikovich, North America chief regional officer for KUKA Robotics. These include where it is being sold, the type of mail to be sent and its mail class. The price of a book of stamp can be determined by a number of things. Book of stamps makes it easier for people to purchase stamps in bulk and at a favorable price. For instance, first class forever book of stamp is made up of 20 stamps. A book of stamp is a booklet made up of one or more little panes of postage stamps on a cardboard cover. If you’ve ever searched for stamps at a grocery store, drug store, or even at retail outlets like Walmart, you will realize that they usually sell the book of stamps instead of single stamps.īefore we proceed, it’s good to know what a book of stamp is. Normally, for an individual to send a letter or parcel, they need one or more stamps. Stamps enable one to send a letter within the country or even abroad. This upset for 10 years gave rise to the Revolutionary War and, ultimately, American independence.Sending a letter or parcel to a friend or relative from a distant place has been made easy by the United States Postal Service. However, the colonists still felt that Parliament didn't have the right to tax them. The British Parliament passed the Declaratory Act in 1766 that accompanied the repeal of the Stamp Act.The colonies no longer paid the stamp tax but the Declaratory Act stated that Parliament's taxing authority was the same in America just like in Great Britain. Oh no Alice! Parliament has control of us again! But not for long! I'm tired of the rebellion of the colonies! Time to repeal the Stamp Act!īut the colonies need to know we are still in charge! The colonies will no longer follow Parliament's Stamp Act! We will revolt! In Boston, MA - August 1765, the Sons of Liberty hung an effigy of Andrew Oliver, the stamp act distributor & destroyed Stamp Act Headquarters as well. The colonies may be able to free themselves from the Stamp Act after all! The House of Burgesses adopted four of the resolutions. It added that anyone in support of Parliament taxing Virginians should be considered an enemy of the colony. It specified that Virginians should not pay taxes unless it was voted on by the Virginia House of Burgesses. The resolves stated that Americans possessed the same rights as the English including the right to be taxed only by their own representatives. Virginia House of Burgesses adopted Patrick Henry's Stamp Act Resolves. He submitted several resolutions to his colony's assembly to deny Parliament the right to tax the colonies. Patrick Henry was a well known opponent of the Stamp Act. Did I mention dice and playing cards are taxed too?Īre you kidding? Parliament can't tax Colonists without our consent!10 shillings for a stamp on our dice is robbery!ĭelegates from the 9 colonies met to petition the King that only colonial Assemblies could tax the colonists. Colonists need to pay a tax on all paper goods. The French and Indian War won't pay for itself. The British government passe the Stamp Act in 1765 in which a direct tax on all printed materials for commercial and legal use in the colonies, including newspapers, marriage licenses, pamphlets to playing cards and dice. Parliament wanted to raise funds to pay off debts and defend the new American territories that were won as a from the French as a result of the Seven Years’ War (1756-1763). We can make the Colonists pay taxes to fund the French and Indian War!Īs a colonist, the Stamp Act made me and the others very upset! We had already been hit with three major taxes:1) Sugar Act (1764) - levied new duties on imports of textiles, wines, coffee and sugar2) Currency Act (1764) - caused a major decline in the value of the our Colonial paper mone圓) Quartering Act (1765) - colonists had to provide food and lodging to British troops. Parliament at the guidance of King George III passed the Stamp Act of 1765 taxing all documents printed in London. There are no further export options, which could be a problem if you want to publish the same book as an EPUB (of course, Amazon probably considers this to be a positive.) You can preview the KPF file using Kindle Previewer or upload it to KDP.Īs Howell explains, looking behind the scenes at how the program works may provide some information on the direction Amazon is going with the Kindle platform. So, when you export, you will see a KPF (Kindle Package Format) file which is, in truth, a zipped archive of the book folder. There’s a label that shows if enhanced typesetting has been enabled.) However, only KFX supports the enhanced typesetting option (you can tell if a book has been updated to the new format by looking on the book’s description page at Amazon. azw formats), and now the KFX format, most Kindle ebooks come in AZW, AZW3, MOBI and PRC formats. This includes a new Bookerly font custom made for Kindles and a new typesetting and layout engine that adds things like hyphens, ligatures, and improved word spacing. Kindle Create uses Amazon’s proprietary format called KFX. One other problem with an otherwise fine product is its non-existent export capabilities. Which means you may have to experiment a bit and, perhaps, even manually change all tabs in the document to ensure perfect indentation and consistency throughout your manuscript. You can manually enter a number to indicate how far indented you’d like your tab in Kindle Create but there seems to be little correlation between the actual number and the indentation: 1.85 can result in a greater indent than, say, 3. Word has the annoying tendency of not always formatting these as it should. Books with lots of images and complex formatting, such as a textbook, travel book, or cookbook.
